soooo I was reading Numbers cuz it’s part of my “read the Bible in one year” plan. too be quite honest, I find it dull. like it’s name, it’s basically about numbers. number of tribes, number of men greater than age x, men between the ages of x and y. there’s a list of all these rules that the Israelite had to follow and man it gets repetitive :P haha. i know there’s a purpose as to why this book is in the Bible but yeah…it’s just not exciting, well at least not to me.

so after reading i thought to myself “this isn’t really applicable to my life right now, and i’m in a position where i really need to trust God right with what’s going on right now. i kind of want to read something encouraging or more inspiring….”. i randomly flip to a random page in the Bible and this is what I stumble upon:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners”-Isaiah 61:1

this is actually really awesome because it’s what i need to hear and be reminded of, especially with all the conflicting thoughts clashing inside my head. and i’ve actually never read this chapter before so that makes it even better! who else can strengthen me, encourage and spur me on better than God Himself?
